Neat, but complex... http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20050907a
This will be better suited to one or more remort classes, instead of just an unlocked option
Description
This is a description I found online... some of it is still a confusing bit, but it's the best breakdown I've found online of what this all is: http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=cfc061973833a53cb5acace442e0961f&t=427785&page=7&pp=30
Well, each character has an essentia pool and an essentia cap Your essentia pool is determined by your class and feats. Assume for example you have an essentia pool of 10. You essentia cap is determined by your level and in some lesser extent by your class. Assume for example you have an essentia cap of 3. You have multiple ways to use your 10 essentia: your feats, special abilities and soulmelds. You cannot use more than your essentia cap in each (that is 3 in our example).
For the sake of simplicity, we assume you only have soulmelds on which to use your essentia. Let's say you have the ability to shape 5 soulmelds and do 2 chakra binds (to your crown, feet or hands in our example). Each morning, you choose which 5 souldmelds to shape among all the soulmelds available to your class - they should not occupy the same spot with each other. Magic items in the slots don't matter. By the simple act of shaping them, you gain some bonuses. After, you determine which 2 of these are to be bound to your chakras - choose 2 among the above which can be bound to your crown, feet or hands). You cannot bind something in a slot occupied by a magic item. By the simple act of binding them, you gain some more bonuses.
Now, every round in this day, as a swift action, you can allocate your essentia (10 that is) to your soulmelds. That is you can say that you allocate 3 in the soulmeld x, 3 in the soulmeld y (let's assume it's also bound), 2 in the soulmeld z and 2 in the soulmeld w. By allocating these essentia you gain more bonuses. You can change this allocation in the next round.
