Hello and Welcome to Immortality on AddictMUD. Following is an outline of the Immortal Policies, job descriptions and responsibilities. Please read this document thouroughly. It will also be emailed to you as soon as you mail addict@dmswebworks.com with your Immortal's name and a list of your mortals.

I. Immortal Policies

    A. You are responsible for the policies of the game, as well as keeping
up with the boards in the game.
    B. You may not at ANY time, have both your Immortals and one of your
mortals online at the same time. This includes linkdead characters.
        This is a freezble offense.
    C. The use of 'where' or 'locate object' or 'stat' or 'at' or any
other immortal command that would reveal to you whether or not an item
was loaded should be kept to a minimum. If you _do_ use one of these
commands, you are forbidden to do ANY of the following.
         1. Log on your mort to retrieve the item or to force it to load.

2. Tell another mortal that the item is loaded, or how many of said item are currently in the game. 3. Even HINT to a mortal that an item has loaded.

If you see that an item is loaded, you _cannot_ go kill that mob until
the mud has crashed, EVEN if another mort has already retrieved the

item.

Basically, you should only use these commands if your job requirements
deem it neccesary. It's too tempting to cheat, and it's best not to
even put yourself in that posistion.
    D. When exploring the mortal realm, you may not touch any object or open
any door. If you need to get on the other side of a door, stat the

room. It will give you the vnum of the next room.

    E. You cannot give a mortal directions to any area besides the newbie
realms. You _can_ take a new player on a tour of a hometown.
    F. You cannot give out item stats. You can teach a player how to use
an identify scroll, and where to buy them.
    G. You cannot tell a player his or her stats - they'll find out at level
        5 just the same.
    H. Mortal 'houses' (rooms purchased by mortals):
        1. are off limits unless a mortal is in there and you are there to
talk to them, or suspect them of breaking a policy and need to
observe them. While there, you cannot use the 'store' or
            'unstore' commands for any reason.
        2. Rooms your mortals own are off limits regardless of any situation.
The oportunity for cheating is too great.
        3. If you have builder access to the zone that your morts rooms are
in, you are not allowed to modify any of your own mobs, objects,
shops, rooms, scripts, etc etc etc. To do so will cause your
rooms to be destroied without refund.

Immortal Tips:

1. Please keep all channels on as much as possible. Always keep newbie on and

  answer any questions,

2. Try to stay out of mortal concerns as much as possible. IF things on

gossip get out of hand, start with a gossip to try and quell the situation,
then move to a gentle tell. Then go to a harsher tell, THEN use a short
mute. Usually all it takes is a 'OK folks' on gossip to stop a bad
situation. Of course, things like spamming and being obscene need stronger
  reactions.

Immortal Job Responsibilities:

1. All Immortals:

    A. Answer newbie questions.
    B. Refer other questions/concerns to the appropriate person.
Bug reports to the bug file unless they are crash bugs.

New ideas to either the idea file or addict@dmswebworks.com

    C. Generally, keep things running smoothly. Keep up with the boards,
answer any questions your qualified to answer.
    D. The GOD+ have the ability to 'assign' tasks to you with the ASSIGN
command. You can read these with the ASSIGN command. You are
expected to have them completed in a timly fashon, if not you must

notify the GOD+ that assigned the task IMMEDIATLY.

2. Level 31 - Immortal

This will be a basic learning level. You will be given the opportunity to learn the commands and work with any teams you are interested in. Aiela will be your guide, available to answer questions and listen to your concerns.

3. Level 34 - Avatar

After a period of time at 31, you will be eligible to apply to one of the Gods to work on their team. IF chosen ,you will go to level AVTR. Your main responsibilities will be working on projects within that team. This is the highest level wise, that most players will ever go. However, as you gain more familiarity with the mud, you may be given more commands and responsibilities.

4. Level 36 - God

Current we have a max of 6 Gods. They head the following departments :

A. OLC : This god is responsible for new areas, including typos and bug checking completed areas, checking them for game balance, approving new areas, helping out the builders and finding locations to put new areas. This god is also responsible for eq imbalances in older areas.

B. Text Files : This god is responsible for keeping the games many text files up to date and useful, including the help files, policies, FAQ's and other assorted files.

C. Areas : This god is responsible for areas currently in the game. This includes typos, zone errors, souping up old disused areas (not adding stronger eq) and moving them if they are too out of the way.

D. Quests : This god is responsible for planning and executing well thought out quests to keep game play interesting for everyone. This also involves keeping a list of QP trade in items and determining what type of quests should warrant what level of prizes or quest points.

E. Player Houses : This God is responsible for the building of player houses, the setting of prices and the collection of funds.

F. Clans : This God is responsible for clan policies, building of clan halls and basically keeping clan life interesting and stress free.

This document is meant to be ever changing, as the situations on AddictMUD change. You will be informed when it changes. Thank you for your willingness to work, and welcome to the team!
