Well, here we go! With all these changes, please report any problems with the BUG command, or mudmail Brazil if you are unable to fit the report in the single line that "bug" allows. The list is not that large, but many of these changes were involved.
-Mortal levels have been increased from 30 to 99. Immortal levels to 120. -Recoded much of how spells are classified internally. -Added new resistances and elemental types (shadow, sonic, disease, holy). -Recoded body parts. They will be flakey until all the parts are properly
recreated.
-Max HP limit for mobs has been increased greatly. -The Realestate agent will take gold from your bank if you do not have
enough gold on you.
-The pre-set titles when you level have been removed. -New remort options, they are orbs, they increase your elemental damage. -"Remort orbs" are insetable. -Some weapons may be able to have more then one gem or orb inset into them. -Some armor can now have gems or orb's inset into them. -Added new wear position "ORB", you may wear one remort orb at a time. -Added additional wear positions that can be gained through remort points
at remort time (two more ears, 2 ankle, and floating nearby).
-Recoded how your skills are stored in memory. -A "perm" Lloyd's Beacon can be purchased with remort points that you
keep through remorts.
-Added RACE to the group listing. -Added level modifiers to damage. You do more damage to a mob higher
level then you are, and less damage to a mob lower level then you are.
-Recoded the CONSIDER command. It's MUCH more useful now. -(uninset is coming, it's not quite working yet). -Added "clan" option to WHO. -Any type of spell can now hit a mirror image on your target, not just
amage spells any longer (this also includes healing spells). This does not apply to potions or spells cast on yourself.
-There is a problem with maintaining Psi powers that have multiple
affects. You have to kill them twice and they show up in your MAINTAIN list more then once. This will be fixed soon.
-EXP cap now increases more as you progress in levels. -All new spells for Necromancers. Not all of them have helps, we will
post here as helps are added.
-All the classes are getting makeovers. We have not implemented all
of them yet. This will be an ongoing process.
-Almost all new spells for Clerics. -New skills for Thieves. -Mostly new spells for Paladins. -AntiPaladins have always sucked. They still suck. -Mostly new spells for Sorcerers. -Several new Psionic powers. -A few new Ninja skills (more on the way). -Priests and Wizards are still the same as they were. For now this
may make Sorcerer's better. It's a lot of work, but we're getting there, please bear with us.
-More spells show their descriptions in the room similar to Sanc. -Body parts will not be made when a mob bleeds to death. -!ELF, !Dwarf flags for EQ. -Recoded how POISON works. Please see the HELP for POISON for details. -Added Disease. It's catchy! (heh, heh) -Remort changes. As you hit levels 31, 40, 80 and 99 you recieve more

When you have auto-level on or off, you will not gain any more experience beyond the 1 experience to get to level 31. Some people were getting too much experience, which would have been bad, so this was the fix.
If you die when you are at that "1 exp to level 31", there is only a 1% chance of losing experience. But you better hurry up and get that exp back if you do loose any, or next time you die all bets are off.

There is a new command called BUILD for those of you that own housing. Build is a command that will be ever growing in capabilities for you to make changes to your own housing for a smaller fee, instead of requesting us to make the change for you. It allows you to do things from changing a room description, to creating a new room, to creating a hometown exit in a room. Look at the help for BUILD for all the details. Type "build prices" to see what the prices are. Currently it can do only room related changes, but more things like custom objects, and mobs and shops will be added over time.

You can now "teleport" while fighting.
You now can see in "attrib" what things are affecting you that are not spells. Like enhanced dam or fly from an item you're wearing. This does not mean it ONLY shows affects from objects, but it includes them.

As most of you already know, we're in the process of making major housing changes. When your housing has been moved, you will be able to get to it by going to the Refreshment Room, then north, to get to the new housing. There is a book to read, that will have instructions on what to do.
With the major reorganization, comes some changes also. First, we no longer will allow rooms to connect to each other. That means you can't connect rooms that don't belong to you to yours. Secondly, there will be no connections to/from clan rooms and personal rooms. Third, we are limiting housing to one per person, not per character. People with multiple houses have been consolidated, and the multiple entrances have been removed.
New housing prices/policies will be posted when our work is completed, and then all pending housing requests will be taken care of.
Unfortunatly, with the major changes we're doing, some things may not work correctly, or be missing (exits, recall devices, shops, etc). We're going to give everyone a month to get back with us about any problems with your rooms, after which, any changes or "corrections" will be done at the appropriate cost. (We have backups available to reference any reported problems before we fix them, so do be honest).

We now have the ability to set a player to "block" a social. If you find a social to be offensive to you, or someone is abusing you with it, you can petition that it be blocked from being used on you. Then any attempt to use the social on you either on gossip, or in the room, will be stopped.
Note: This will not stop the social from being used on someone else in the same room as you, or on someone else on gossip.

You can now use drink containers to store potions. Use the POUR command to pour potions into your drink container. For example, if you pour 3 burger potions into a canteen, you can drink 3 times from the canteen as if you were drinking 3 burger potions.
Make sure it's empty, and do not mix potions! Mixing a potion with a different potion, or another drink like water or beer will ruin the entire thing.

You can no longer order a mob to pummel continously. A pets wait state will be checked when you order a mob now.
Added the message history to qsay (like most other channels). Just type "qsay" to see.
The RESTORE spell now goes down in mana cost faster, for a minimum of 80 mana.
The mana cost for WORD OF DEATH now goes down faster as you level. Sorcerers will go down to 120 at level 30, and Necromancers will go down to 100 at level 30.
Some mobs are really big on mirror image now.

Fixed bug where if a spell cast on an item (like sanc) wore off, you didn't see the message if if you were wearing the item.
Fixed some bugs with Psi's and stopping spell maintaince.
New remort option, "castcost". For 2 remort points, your mana costs are reduced by 2%. This reduction is accumulative each remort, and the current reduction percentage can be seen with the "attribute" command, and you see your new mana costs in "practice".

Lots of typo fixes in code and socials.
A necromancer word of death is now nearly as powerful as a wizard/sorcerer.
Some of you may notice that you received a message when you logged in regarding questpoints. It means that at some point in the last couple years, you reported a bug, typo or idea, and it has been fixed or acted upon. Bogus reports, or ideas that do not get implemented are not rewarded with a questpoint.

Meteor Swarm no longer allows a saving throw for half damage, and does more damage (almost double).
Ice Storm does some more damage.
Fireball is now more powerful when you first receive it, and it grows in power as you level.
Casting Sanctuary on an object lasts longer then casting it on a person.
Paladins get information at level 9.
Paladins have PERM Protection from Evil when they are GOOD align.
AntiPaladins have PERM Protection from Good when they are EVIL align.

Order that some things happen during a tick has been moved around, so that PSP regen comes before PSP Maintaince costs are taken.
Energy drain does not allow saving throw anymore.
Earthquake does some more damage.
Death field no longer gets a saving throw, it should work more often now.
Reworked the logic order for negate sanc... should be a little faster if not more reliable.
Wizards no longer lose mana when casting polymorph.
Mobs you poly into no longer have random items on them.
Messages in the skills/spells/powers commands referring you to the other commands at the end.
Removed old check on tick to drop wimpy if it was greater then half maxhit (no longer valid with wimpy being %)

Originally, a RESISTANCE ment you only took half damage from what you're resisant against. Now items give a % resistance. If your item has a RES_FIRE of 20, then the item absorbes 20% of fire damage. If you wear another item that has 5% RES_FIRE, then that's a total of 25% damage you don't take.
Also, WIMPY changed. You now specify at what % of hp you have left to flee. I.e. if you have 200 hp, and set your wimpy to 50, you will flee at 100hp.
You will need to reset your wimpy, it's been defaulted to 25%.

The remort command has changed. Type "remort" when you have the experience to do so. You will se a list of things you can chose when you remort. The most major change you'll notice right now is that you can do things like:
"remort cleric int wis remort"
If you want to add one point to your INT and another to your WIS.
If you want to add two points to a stat, you can do:
"remort int int remort" (****NOTE: specifying your class is optional now,
You will keep your current class.) That will add 2 points to INT as you remort.
You don't even have to specify a stat if you don't want to, you can just specify a new class, or nothing at all. Typing "remort remort" will remort you "as-is" with no inreases, changes to class, etc.
We're introducing the concept of remort "points". Every time you remort you get 3 points. Changing your class is 1 point, each stat increase is 1 point, and resetting age is 2 points (so you can still increase a stat 1 point, or change your class if you want to reset your age). The idea being, as we add the new options to remort that are in the works, some may cost more then 3 points, so you will need more then 1 remort to get an option.

Wizards and Priests have undergone some changes. The more you have a spell in memory, the higher the chance it will become 'semi-permanant'. What does this mean? You only have a small chance of forgetting a 'semi-perm' spell, the chance to forget is higher the less spells you have memorized.
The downside is, if a spell becomes semi-perm, you cannot memorize (or pray for) it until you've completly forgotten it, then it is no longer semi-perm. Confused yet? hehe...
-700 Hit point bug should be fixed. Please report if you see it again.
As a result of the above fix, you can only cast 'rotting flesh' on a mob once at a time.

Experimental: mana regen does not go down with age, it keeps climbing. Hit regen and move regen will still start to go down once you get too old.

Bug seeing sanc fixed.
Added the ability for a weapon to be elemental based. For example, a Fire Sword may do "fire damage" to a mob. If the mob is weak against fire it will receive more damage, but like normal immunities/resistances, it could also decrease the amount of damage you do to a mob that's strong against fire.

Yes, mana regen has changed again. Instead of every tick you gain a large chunk of mana, you slowly gain mana every 5 seconds. Over the normal time a tick takes (75 seconds), you still regen the same amount of mana, it is just broken up now.

Two new options for mudmail that should be useful. LIST and CANCEL. When you are at the postmaster, use LIST to check for undelivered mail. You can't see undelivered mail you sent to someone that is higher level then you are. With CANCEL, you can cancel a letter you sent to someone. Use LIST to get the ID if the mudmail, then type CANCEL #.
CONE OF SILENCE spell is now somewhat useful. Certain loud mobs can't call for help.
Some thief MOB's can now steal equipment from your inventory.
Mobs are getting smarter. If you give them a weapon, or they pick up a weapon, they will wield it if it is better then what they already have.

This is an experiment that will no doubt be permanant, but has to be tested somehow. Regen is what you might call different (for mana only, as a test case, HP and movement will follow if this works out). Instead of regaining a large amount of mana every tick, the amount you regen has been divided up over the span of a tick. What does this mean? If you regen 25 points a tick, you will now regen 1 point every 3 seconds. If you regen 150 points a tick, you will now regen 2 points a second, and so on.

Missed recordings: When you enter a forum, you will get a list of messages you have not yet read.
Mobs with memory are a little more 'smarter'. If the mob is WIMPY, it will flee from you if it remembers you, instead of attack you again like an idiot.
Newbie's get a set of default aliases. If you would like to have these "reset", you can type "ALIAS DEFAULT" to get the "default" aliases. These aliases include: gac get all all.corpse gc get all.coins un unlock $*;open $* da deposit all
When you make an alias, you will be told what command you just aliased to, i.e., if you alias gc to get all.coins, you'll get a message like "Alias 'gc' added."
The list of forum messages now paginate, and the newest messages are at the top, like boards.
New code, with new spells on the way. You'll begin to see spells you cast on objects well start to wear off. As spells are changed or added for this, you will be notified.
A few older skills had a crash bug that was rarely hit. It's fixed now.
STORE LIST now "item stacks" finally.
Bug in mobs with MEMORY attacking people wrongly, fixed.
FYI- The Imprisoned Beasts have changed slightly. The "relocate beast" is no more. It's "special" alias was classified as a typo, fixed, and made to match the other beasts.

New command, it's a little complicated. It's a 'forum' system. For starters, it is going to replace the Idea board. Don't know if it will replace any other boards, not likely. Please read the help for FORUM before asking any questions. Any ideas to smooth out the use of this command are welcome. (Or any suggestions for changes to the helpfile to make it more understandable).
When insetting something, if the min level of the gem is greater then the min level of the weapon, the new min level of the weapon reflects the min level of the gem.

Since it can get lonely building on the OLC port, one of the "Intermud" communication cannels has been opened up to the morts. A command (which still needs some color) called RCHAT will be the command you use to communicate. To shut it off, just type RCHAT, and you will no longer see RCHATS.

Clan leaders can set the 'commands' on members without making them leaders, so you can decide who gets to withdraw gold, without having to give them access to demote, promote, etc.

If the min level of an object is 0, it will no longer show when identifying.
The SPLIT command will now accept 40k or 4m when specifying how much to split.

The damage for the upper level Psionicist spells has been increased. Ultrablash and Psionic Disintegrate have swapped what levels you get them.

The BERSERK skill has changed somewhat. It will not affect someone you are grouped with, and when berserking, you do anywhere from 33% to 100% more damage, based on your level.

It's been talked about for a few weeks, and has pretty much caused people to put clans on hold until it's completed, well, it's done! The new clan system is in. What does that mean for you? On the surface, a more stable system, no who lists getting botched up, and things like that. The new system is pretty flexable, so I think everyone will be happy with it. (Existing clans had to be deleted, but they will be re-created in the new system FOC).
Clan NAME and your Rank will appear in WHOIS.
The 'options' or arguments, to the CLAN command can be abbrev. now.
Newbies between levels 1 and 5 can not die in the starter zone. When they are about to die, they are automatically healed. This will solve the past problem with newbies dieing in there and not being able to retrieve their corpse.
Applications for OLC will be handled ONLINE on the web page. You can get to the application at HTTP://www.addictmud.org/olc All documents will be updated to reflect this. You will no longer email anyone. All information on the form is REQUIRED.
A lot of people know about the 'string parser' and how it can affect room descriptions. Well, objects are entering that realm of abilities.

Rent has been converted over to the new system. The conversion went painlessly, but backups have been made in case of problems. Please report anything that doesn't look right with your eq, either to a God that is online or mudmail Brazil.
This means that now you can rent mudmail, which is only one of many things to come from this new code.
Score no longer will ALWAYS show you everything. You now much type "score long" to see more info (this is in an effort to make score more viewable in 'high spam' situations, like combat).

The clan bug is FIXED. Clans are open just as soon as Cross says they are.
When someone enters a room with a teleport on it, previously, when you left that room, the teleport timer still counted, and if you went back into the room, you could get teleported by the original counter. This is no longer a problem, the counter is restarted every time you enter a room.
Locate object will no longer show items on mobs you cannot see.

Re-activated Zone idle. Which means if a zone is empty for a while (exact time is based on the zones reset time, with a minimum of the time it takes for a corpse to decompose) all mobs and items are removed from the zone until someone enters it.
Like the news says, clans are back. This is code we originally started with about 2 years ago, I just pulled it out and decided since it really is a good system, to make it work.
Last vestigal traces of super sanc are gone. (Nuke likely to follow).
Ninja skill, barehand attack. Based on level, and how well you know it. you cannot practice this skill, you automatically know it at 5% when you remort, and it increases in skill as used. If wielding a weapon, damage will come from the weapon, and it does not increase your skill at all.
