- Ways to enter the planes:
- Portals, conduits and gates are possible entrances.
- Portals: Players can cast a portal and perhaps randomly arrive there. Other may be a portal that is through a "door" that appears random or placed somewhere but a key of some type is needed to open it. This portal disappears for a time after being entered.
- Conduits-the colors pools in the Astral plane would be a conduit. A whirpool that appears, etc.
- Gate-perhaps a "wild magic" of the gate spell?
Planes
Mirror
- A hall of mirrors that leads to various planes.
- At times one of these works as a real mirror that duplicates the player but reverses the alignment and makes the "mob" hunt and attack the player.
Shadow
- Empty plane of darkness, shadows cast with no light source.
- Connects through Portals or Gates, also through darkness (maybe darkness spells by some classes?)
- No Colors Exist, how can we do this?
- Mainly neutral aligned mobs.
- Enhanced Shadow magic by spells that are shadow while on this plane at no higher mana cost.
- Spells that cast light or fire are weaker or may fail completely. Light sources should be downgraded when here.
- Mobs:
- Ghirrash-Siz-limbed tigerlike fiends
- Khumat-Crocodilian fiends
- Thaskor-Elephantine fiends
- Shadow Eft
Astral
- A misty white landscape.
- Filled with forgotten and dead gods.
- Mostly barren.
- Time and space stop while here.
- Only real feature are silver cords of projectors.
- Various color pools that lead to various other worlds.
- Mobs:
- Githyanki-use psionic powers look like deranged elves.
Ethereal
- A misty greyish landscape
- Mobs:
- Ethereal Slayer
- Vision
