Talk:Mana Pools

Really left-field idea ....

What if there was a centralized "mana" zone. Like a Mana plant/foundry/fountain - basically a smallish zone brimming with magical energy (25-50 rooms). There would be mana pipelines running from this zone to other zones (large pipelines to the hometowns, where people regen a lot). These pipelines are what provide the zones with their mana. Maybe there would be "events" only in the negative sense, where sets of mobs would be released that would stage attacks on the various pipelines - and players would have to set out to find the mobs/pipelines and fix the problem.

Maybe the idea is a bit too final fantasy, it's certainly out there. But it's some method of making the mana pools a bit more interactive.

Unfortunately, it would require a good deal of building, and the pipelines would have to be integrated somehow, which I'm not fully certain how that would work.

Either that, or (on a much smaller scale) - bring back the mana springs, and the floating balls of energy that originally led to Arinorn... only make them more randomized. Almost like a continual quest - certain events would trigger the Mana Machine to activate again, which would pop the springs up and wreck the mana on the mud. This idea is probably much more feasible...
